GNSC Intramural Program

Throughout the 23 year history of the Great Neck Soccer Club, we have always looked at opportunities to evolve our programs to ensure that we are aligning to our mission of providing boys and girls from all backgrounds and abilities the opportunity to enhance their soccer development through a Great Neck based Soccer Program.
To that end, we are proud to announce that we will be partnering with the Great Neck Park District (GNPD) this Fall to provide an enhanced Intramural Program for the Great Neck community.
WHAT HAS CHANGED?
While the Intramural Program Training staff and curriculum will generally stay the same the GNSC-GNPD Program will feature the following enhancements:
  • Allenwood Park Fields for ALL Boys/Girls Sessions - All sessions on Saturdays and Sundays will now take place at Allenwood Park.
  • NEW Parent & Me Class (Ages 2-3) - We are adding a new 45 minute class focused on introducing the youngest members of our community (and their parents) to the Beautiful Game.
  • NEW Weekday Training Option - We are providing our Kindergarten, 1st Grade and 2nd Grade Boys and Girls with the ability to add an additional training session on either Tuesdays or Thursdays (players must commit to one day or the other for the entirety of the 8-week program).
  • NEW Pre-K and Kindergarten Boys Sessions on Sundays - We are providing Pre-K and Kindergarten Boys the option of attending a class on either Saturday or Sunday (players must commit to one day or the other for the entirety of the 8-week program).
  • NEW Pre-K Girls Session on Saturdays - We are providing Pre-K Girls the option of attending a class on either Saturday or Sunday (players must commit to one day or the other for the entirety of the 8-week program).
NOTE: We will be adding additional enhancements, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
WHEN DOES THE SEASON START:  Sessions will kick-off the weekend of September 9th/10th and run through November 4th/5th. We will provide a rain date/make-up session the weekend of November 11th/12th. There will be no sessions the weekend of September 16th/17th.
WHERE DO I REGISTER: Registration will take place using the Great Neck Park District's registration system.  For schedule information and to register, please click HERE and choose one of the following classes:
  • NEW Parent & Me Class (Ages 2-3):  A new 45 minute class focused on introducing the youngest members of our community (and their parents) to the Beautiful Game.

 

  • Little Kickers (Pre-K to Kindergarten Boys & Girls /Ages 4 - 6):  A 60 minute class on Saturdays (Boys/Girls:  12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) and Sundays (Boys/Girls:  12:15 PM - 1:15 PM) providing Pre-K to Kindergarten Boys/Girls with an early introduction to the fundamental soccer skills needed to help grow their confidence and develop a long-term love of the Beautiful Game.  All Little Kickers sessions will be run by our Professional Training Staff from JIGS Soccer Academy, and consist of a variety of FUN drills/activities and small sided games focused on skills acquisition.

 

  • Little Kickers PLUS (Kindergarten Boys & Girls /Ages 4 - 6):  Builds on our Little Kickers program by providing players with the opportunity to participate in our Saturday or Sunday Little Kickers program PLUS an additional 1-hour weekday session on either Tuesdays or Thursdays (Boys/Girls 4:30pm-5:30pm) focused on the foundational ball skills needed to raise their game to the next level.

 

  • Big Kickers (1st-2nd Grade Boys & Girls): A 60 minute class on Saturdays (Boys:  1:15 PM - 2:15 PM) and Sundays (Boys/Girls:  1:30 PM - 2:30 PM) that builds on the Skills Acquisition focus of our Little Kickers program by introducing our 1st and 2nd grade Boys/Girls to more advanced skills/concepts.  All Big Kickers sessions will be run by our Professional Training Staff from JIGS Soccer Academy, and consist of a variety of FUN drills/activities and small sided games.

 

  • Big Kickers PLUS (1st-2nd Grade Boys & Girls):  Big Kickers PLUS builds on our Big Kickers program by providing players with the opportunity to participate in our Saturday or Sunday Big Kickers program PLUS an additional 1-hour weekday session on either Tuesdays or Thursdays (Boys/Girls 4:30pm-5:30pm) focused on the foundational ball skills needed to raise their game to the next level.  

 

  • Prime Kickers Soccer League (3rd-6th Grade Boys & Girls):  A 90 minute class on Sundays (Boys/Girls:  1:30 PM - 3:00 PM) that builds on the Advanced Skills developed in Big Kickers and introduces our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Boys/Girls to 7v7 and 9v9 game play.  All Prime Kickers sessions will be run by our Professional Training Staff from JIGS Soccer Academy, and consist of advanced skills development and games.
